But the number one dream I had for my tables is to know they are being used for family & friends to gather around.
These tables are built to withstand all of your grandpas stories as he leaves his half drank, lukewarm cup of coffee on the edge of the table.
They are made for shared Christmas dinners when all your grown kids come home for the holidays to celebrate over a glass of wine & an ungodly amount of mashed potatoes.

They are made for the young ones to claim it as their kingdom, surrounded by blankets & pillows built around it, creating the perfect fort.

These tables are made to be passed on from generation to generation.

I’m Johnny Khan,
the owner of
Coffee Stained Wood.

When my wife and I first got married back in 2018, we had this idea to create a small, local wood working business together. We were going to make tables, bookshelves, cutting boards, and more!
We designed a logo, bought some small supplies, and we were ready to go!

But as always, life ended up getting in the way of that dream.
​
So we put a pin in it...
​
Fast forward to 4 years later, after we moved out of our first apartment in Mountain House, Ca, we packed up and moved up to the beautiful mountains of Sonora, Ca.
​
Through lots of trial and error, learning curves, and experience, we decided to give it another go!
​
Thus creating...
COFFEE STAINED WOOD.
In 2023 my wife, Rian, launched her own businesses & became 100% self employed.
RK Honey Photography &
RK Honey Designs took off immediately!
​
Soon after this, I quit my 9-5 & decided to bet on myself.
I rebranded Coffee Stained Wood, Rian designed my website, built my first large single slab table, & the rest is history!
Marriage has a funny way of blending every bit of your lives together.
So while my wife helps me continue to build my business & hold a piece of wood still while I drill a hole, I also have taken up photography & videography as well.

Constantly learning & pushing ourselves in every way.
We are a team & we are enjoying every minute of it.
